About this tool

Pull email addresses, phone numbers, web links and IPv4 addresses out of any block of text. Paste an email thread, a page copied from a website, a log file or a messy spreadsheet column, and get a clean list you can copy into a mailing tool, a CRM, a spreadsheet or code.

Everything runs in your browser. Your text is never sent to a server.

How it works

  • Email addresses: a name made of letters, digits and . _ % + - ', an @, then a domain with at least one dot and a final part of two or more letters. Quoted names, comments and addresses with an IP address as the domain are not recognized. International letters are allowed. Trailing punctuation such as a full stop after an address is not included.
  • Phone numbers: international numbers that start with + and a country code, 8 to 15 digits in total, with spaces, dots, dashes or brackets in between (+44 20 7946 0958); and 10-digit US and Canadian numbers, with or without +1 or 1, brackets, dashes, dots or spaces ((415) 555-0132, 415.555.0132). Numbers written without a + in other countries' formats are not found, because plain digit strings are too easily confused with dates, prices and IDs.
  • Web links start with http:// or https://. A final full stop, comma, bracket or quote that belongs to the sentence is left off, and so is a closing bracket that has no opening bracket inside the link.
  • IPv4 addresses are four numbers from 0 to 255 separated by dots. Longer dotted numbers such as version strings with five parts are not matched.
  • With Remove duplicates on, the first appearance of each value is kept, in the order found. Emails are compared after lowercasing when that option is on; phone numbers are compared exactly as written.
  • Quotes and the output format apply to every list at once. JSON arrays always use double quotes and ignore the quote setting.

FAQ

Q. Why was a phone number not found?

A. Only numbers with a leading + and country code, and 10-digit US and Canadian numbers, are recognized. For other local formats, add the country code with a + in front before pasting.

Q. Can this collect addresses from a site automatically?

A. No. It only reads the text you paste. Only contact people who have agreed to hear from you, and follow the rules that apply to you, such as GDPR, CAN-SPAM and CASL.

Q. Can I get the addresses ready to paste into the To field?

A. Choose Semicolon-separated (or Comma-separated) with no quotes. Most email clients accept either.
